Chevler launches Welsh consumer PR Campaign for Rugby World Cup
Chevler, the UK’s leading manufacturer of baking cases, has launched a consumer PR campaign in Wales to coincide with the Rugby World Cup under the headline ‘Scrumby treat for rugby fans’.
The company is urging consumers to look out for bakers, coffee shops and supermarkets selling muffins and cupcakes in its specially designed, limited edition Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon) baking cases and muffin wraps.
Company director Norman Chase said: ‘People here in Hengoed wanted to show their support for the coach Warren Gatland and the Welsh rugby union team in their efforts to win the Rugby World Cup about to held in New Zealand. We are a Welsh company, proud of our Welsh heritage.
‘We hope that Welsh bakers, cake makers, coffee shop proprietors and retailers will get behind the initiative and offer fans the chance to show their support and patriotism by producing muffins and cupcakes in our special cases. We believe we are unique in the UK in that we carry out all our printing and converting in-house. We do not rely on stock imported from abroad.
'Everyone knows we passionate about our rugby in Wales and this an ideal opportunity to show we are also passionate about our food.’
The campaign urges supporters to treat themselves while watching the matches and celebrating victories and, if the national team should have an off day and disaster unfortunately strikes, it points out that the cakes could be an ideal way to cheer themselves up!
Patriotic Welsh bakers and cake makers need to contact on Chevler 01844 344231 for details of their nearest stockist of the special baking cases and muffin wraps.
Wales kick-off their 2011 Rugby World Cup campaign with a match against South Africa in Wellington on September 11.
